Learning jiu-jitsu in Paris
Paris inverts the deal most cities offer, and it is too big for one guide anyway. Inside the Périphérique the first class is usually paid — 15–25€, almost always deducted from your sign-up if you stay — while the free trial lives in the suburbs, where clubs price residents and non-residents differently instead. The annual licence never gates a first class anywhere. We cover the metro area by area. Each area gets the same treatment: verified facts per academy, no rankings, and the evidence behind every claim.

Paris intra-muros

The city inside the Périphérique: NR Fight's four rooms, Gracie Barra's four salles, and a first class that costs 15–25€ — deducted if you sign up.
-
Hauts-de-Seine
19 academies
The western crescent, Boulogne to La Défense: the free trial returns here — and Courbevoie's annual rate runs +50% without proof of local domicile.
-
Seine-Saint-Denis
14 academies
The northeast, Saint-Denis to Le Raincy: municipal dojos, free first classes, and the metro's one trial that asks for a medical certificate first.
-
Val-de-Marne
15 academies
The southeast, Vincennes to Créteil: the petite couronne's most open doors — Cercle Tissier's unconditional free trial, and walk-in days named outright.
