Learning jiu-jitsu in Paris intra-muros

This guide covers the 32 rooms of Paris intra-muros — the city inside the Périphérique. The capital's language is the paid trial: a first class here usually costs 15–25€, almost always 'déductible lors de l'inscription' — deducted from your sign-up if you stay. NR Fight's four rooms and Gracie Barra's four salles anchor the map, and the annual licence never gates a first class. For someone just starting, the real question is not "which academy is best" but "which one fits me."

Casa De Lapel

Casa De Lapel

Who this academy suits

The cheapest published front door in central Paris: a 15€ trial, deducted from your sign-up if you stay, into classes the club itself describes as open to all — taught by two black belts from a single 6th-degree lineage (Maître Paulo Sergio's PS Phoenix team). Current-season pricing is published plainly: 35€ annual membership plus 245€ a trimester. A fit for a budget-minded beginner in the east of Paris who wants a small association rather than a commercial academy

Why we say it: The trial price with its deductible clause, the 2026/2027 season prices and both instructors' names and ranks are the venue page's own published copy (fetched 2026-08-06)

Dojo 5

Dojo 5

Who this academy suits

The beginner-heaviest timetable in the Latin Quarter, inside a dojo teaching martial arts since 1909: five beginner JJB sessions a week — including 7am starts for before-work training — plus no-gi, all open through August when much of Paris closes. Trials are by online reservation in plain sportswear, and the price sheet is unusually clean: no sign-up fee, no cancellation fee, licence at cost

Why we say it: The 8-session timetable with five beginner slots, the reservation-only trial, the summer-opening line and the full tariff table are all the dojo's own published copy (fetched 2026-08-06)

The cleanest free trial in the Latin Quarter — 'Cours d'essai — Gratuit', bring shorts and a T-shirt, beginners welcome any time of year in the club's own words — inside a municipal gymnasium at an association price: 350€ for the whole year, less than three months at many commercial rooms. Thursday midday and Saturday no-gi round out the week; Sunday runs across town at the MMA Factory

Why we say it: The free-trial wording appears on both the tarifs and adhesion pages, the beginner-welcome line is the club's own FAQ, and the 350€ price and full planning are own-published (fetched 2026-08-06)

Who this academy suits

The only true walk-in door recorded in central Paris: no appointment, no form — arrive 15–20 minutes early with 20€ and flip-flops, borrow a kimono once, and the trial fee comes off your membership if you stay. The price ladder is flat and complete (day, week, month, year), the licence never changes the number, and women's and kids rates are printed plainly. A fit for a beginner who would rather just show up than navigate a booking funnel

Why we say it: The walk-in trial wording (no appointment, 20€, kimono lent once, deductible) and the full flat price table are the club's own published copy, byte-stable across the 2026-08-02 and 2026-08-06 fetches

Who this academy suits

The clean no-strings tester of the 10e: a 20€ trial booked on the club's own form, explicitly free of any membership obligation — and free outright for kids 4 to 12. From 1 September the week includes a dedicated Saturday beginners class (16+) and two early-morning slots for before-work training. A fit for a beginner who wants one honest paid taste of the mat, or a parent testing the water for a child at zero cost

Why we say it: The trial price, kids-free clause, one-per-person limit and no-obligation wording are the club's own published copy; the September timetable with its Saturday beginners class is forward-dated on the club's own JJB page (both fetched 2026-08-06)

A free trial deep in the 13e: Olympiades is, with Tolbiac, one of the two rooms the NRFight network lists without ambiguity through its summer reshuffle. Racing Club de France JJB — Infinity Paris

Racing Club de France JJB — Infinity Paris

Who this academy suits

The strongest credential set in the 7e for a beginner who wants serious coaching without a paid trial: the French national-team JJB coach leads the mat, the Infinity collaboration brings French-champion competition pedigree, and the trial is free through the network's booking page — shorts and a T-shirt suffice. Midday classes three days a week suit lunch-hour training, and the room runs a real summer schedule while much of Paris goes dark in August. JJB from age 15

Sacamp (Dojo Sacamp)

Sacamp (Dojo Sacamp)

Who this academy suits

The no-hidden-fees pick of the northeast: Sacamp publishes its whole price ladder — down to a 75€ no-commitment month for one discipline — and bundles the licence and insurance into season and half-year plans, so the sign-up fence other Paris clubs add simply is not there. Classes run seven days a week, mornings included, under a 2nd-degree black belt who also holds a judo 3rd dan. Book the trial through the site's widget and confirm its price when you do — that one number is unpublished

Who this academy suits

For a beginner who wants judo-grade structure under BJJ black belts — seven are listed with ranks, led by a 6th-dan judoka and BJJ black belt who founded the club in 1999 — with a genuinely free trial. The catch is French-club paperwork at its purest: book through the site form and bring the voucher it generates, or you won't get on the mat. Part of the week trains three basements under Châtelet-les-Halles — the only mat in the 1er
