Learning jiu-jitsu in central and western Warsaw

This guide covers the city's centre and west — Śródmieście, Wola, Ochota and Włochy. Two rooms verified, both with full entries, and they could hardly be more different. Academia Gorila, on Kopernika in Śródmieście, is the one room in this city that plans for the traveling grappler explicitly: its Polish price list carries an English-titled line — `JIU JITSU COMPETITION TEAM TRENINGS`, two weeks €100, four weeks €189 — a euro-priced pass for exactly the visitor who lands with a gi and a competition date. A single visit is `Jednorazowe wejście` at 59 zł, and a MULTISPORT or FitProfit card walks in `bez opłat i rezerwacji` — no fees, no booking. Ares Fight Club, in Wola, is a Ukrainian-community club — its site speaks Ukrainian first and names its audience in its own words, `Тренування для українців` — and it is the only room on this instrument that publishes a trial price at all: `Trening próbny — 40 zł`, paid. That is the vocabulary lesson of this city so far: where `trening próbny` appears at all it is a paid product, and the other rooms publish no trial word — the door is the single entry. One honest note: much of Warsaw's club life lives behind walls this research honours, on social platforms it does not read, so where this page looks small, that is a statement about what this research can read and never about Warsaw. For someone just starting, the real question is not "which academy is best" but "which one fits me."

Academia Gorila Warszawa — the Warsaw room of the Gorila network: 'Boks, Muay Thai, BJJ, CrossFit i Zapasy' in the strict centre of Warsaw, '600m2' of mats, ring and CrossFit floor, and — its own boast — 'Goście z całego świata', guests from all over the world

Who this academy suits

The most legible door in central Warsaw, and the only room on this instrument that plans for the traveling grappler explicitly: its Polish price list carries an English-titled, euro-priced line — 'JIU JITSU COMPETITION TEAM TRENINGS, 2 weeks €100, 4 weeks €189'. For everyone else the arithmetic is printed too: 59 zł for a single visit, benefits cards accepted with no fees or booking, and six adult BJJ slots a week under Jędrek Loska — a black belt beside a published record (World Games gold, a Ne-waza world title), whose own student now teaches as a 2017 black belt 'pod Jędrkiem Loską', the grantor named in the room's own words. Two things to know: there is no trial class — the 59 zł single entry IS the first visit — and the schedule lives in the operator's images, one hall per image, so confirm the grid at the desk

Why we say it: All from the room's own channel, gorila.pl — six pages plus the operator's own schedule and price-list images, read 2026-08-19; robots 'User-agent: *' / 'Disallow: /wp-admin/', checked not assumed. Address, phone, class grid, price matrix, the euro competition-team product and every belt claim are the operator's own bytes, and the address byte-matches the competition platform's registry. Loska's black belt is club-claimed without a grantor; Polczyk's names its grantor on the same page and is stated as exactly that. The schedule's W and P suffixes are unglossed and carried untranslated; the 2022 news stop is carried as a conflict against the 2025/2026 schedule bytes; capacity is recorded as unfound (§19.4)

Free trial
No trial word exists on the channel — no 'trening próbny', no free class. First-timers pay the 59 zł single entry ('Jednorazowe wejście') or walk in on a Multisport/OK System/FitProfit card 'bez opłat i rezerwacji' — no fees, no booking. Traveling competitors get their own product, in English and in euros, on the Polish price list: 'JIU JITSU COMPETITION TEAM TRENINGS — 2 weeks €100 · 4 weeks €189'
Class schedule
From the operator's own schedule images (in force since 08.09.2025; the Sala B file uploaded March 2026): BJJ INTRO Mon/Wed/Fri 17:00, 'BJJ W' Mon/Wed/Fri 19:30, 'BJJ P' Tue/Thu 20:30, no-gi ('BJJ NOGI INTRO') Mon/Wed 21:00, and two kids' tracks on Tue/Thu and Saturday mornings. The suffixes are the operator's own level key, printed on a sibling schedule image: P — beginners, W — all levels, and INTRO — in the house's own words, a one-hour beginners' class building conditioning and the basics. The transcription covers one hall, so ask the desk for the full grid

Marcin Polczyk holds a black belt 'pod Jędrkiem Loską' since 2017 — the grantor named on the room's own page. Ares Fight Club — a Ukrainian-community fight club in Wola; the site's default language is Ukrainian, with Polish as the second edition, and its own keyword line names its audience: 'Тренування для українців'. 700 m² by its own count; MMA, boxing, kickboxing and no-gi grappling for adults, jiu-jitsu among the kids' groups

Who this academy suits

Warsaw's clearest first-visit arithmetic and its most distinctive room: a Ukrainian-community fight club in Wola whose site speaks Ukrainian first and names its audience in its own words — 'Тренування для українців'. It is also the only room on this instrument that publishes a trial price at all: 'Trening próbny — 40 zł', paid, beside a 69 zł single session and a 390 zł unlimited month. Adults get the no-gi pair — 'GRAPPLING NO-GI', Tuesday and Thursday 20:00, beginner-marked — under head coach Roman Zinchuk, whose page claims a world jiu-jitsu title and a BJJ brown belt (club-claimed, no grantor named); kids get their own jiu-jitsu coaching. Two cautions from the room's own bytes: no adult class is named jiu-jitsu and no gi program is published, so gi players should ask first — and the trial is paid, not free

Why we say it: All from the room's own channel, aresfightclub.pl, five pages read 2026-08-19, the Polish edition reached via the published ?lang=pl route — no header tricks; robots 'User-agent: *' / 'Allow: /' with only *?lightbox= disallowed, and that class avoided. Trial and price bytes are quoted from both language editions and agree; the address is the operator's own embedded business-location record, byte-matching the competition platform's registry; belt and title claims are the club's own words, attributed as club-claimed with no grantor named (§10.10). The adult-grid-versus-team-page tension is carried as a conflict, unresolved; capacity recorded as unfound (§19.4)

A paid trial class, published in both language editions: 'Trening próbny — 40 zł'. A plain single session costs 69 zł and the one-time club card 50 zł; benefits cards are accepted for group classes only
Class schedule
Adults (15+): 'GRAPPLING NO-GI (beginners)' Tue and Thu 20:00, beside near-daily MMA, boxing and kickboxing. Kids' groups run MMA tracks by age daily, with the kids' jiu-jitsu coaching claimed on the team page rather than as a named grid slot. No adult class is NAMED jiu-jitsu — the adult mat path is the no-gi pair, so ask about gi work before traveling

Membership

Promos — a free personal session with a 3-month pass, +1 month free at 6 months, +2 at 10, bring-a-friend −25%, family discounts to −50% — and they don't stack. Personal training from 210 zł a session

Address
Jana Kazimierza 56, 01-248 Warszawa (Wola) — the operator's own structured business-location data, byte-matching the competition platform's registry
Instructors
Roman Zinchuk, head coach — the room's own page claims a world jiu-jitsu title, a European MMA title, and a 'Коричневий пояс BJJ' (BJJ brown belt; club-claimed, no grantor named). Kids' jiu-jitsu runs under Yaroslav Rymaruk, 'coach of the kids' MMA and jiu-jitsu groups'. The competition platform's person-in-charge matches the head coach

I'm a complete beginner. Can I just show up?

It differs by academy. Entries show where a fundamentals program and first-visit process are verified. For the rest, check with the academy before visiting. For what a first class actually feels like, see the beginner posts on our blog.
