Learning jiu-jitsu on the Cascais line
This guide covers Lisbon's western coast belt — Cascais, Quinta da Beloura in Sintra, and Alcabideche. Three full entries. Gracie Barra prints two doors on one site: Rua dos Navegantes 368 A in Cascais and the Beloura school inland — the booking form itself asks which school you want to try, and the first class is free («Agende uma aula grátis»). Carlson Gracie Cascais in Alcabideche runs kids from age four and adult group classes for all ages under head professor Roberto Serra, and prints its address with its own wayfinding — 110 metres past the fire station, buses 406, 411 and 417. Unlike the city centre, this belt starts free — prices mostly sit behind the contact flow. For someone just starting, the real question is not "which academy is best" but "which one fits me."

Gracie Barra Cascais
Who this academy suits
The Linha's network anchor: Gracie Barra Cascais at Rua dos Navegantes 368 A opens with a free class — «Agende uma aula grátis» sits across the site and in the navigation — and the booking form itself asks which of the club's two schools you want to try, Cascais or the Beloura door in Sintra. Instruction runs under Gracie Barra's certification program, per the site's own copy; the «Premium» and «more than 900 schools» lines are the club's own claims. Schedule lives in a posted graphic and prices aren't printed — ask when booking the free class
Why we say it: The address, the free-class CTAs, the two-school booking form and the certification copy are the club's own published site content, fetched 2026-08-25; superlative claims stay attributed (§10.10)

Gracie Barra Sintra — Quinta da Beloura
Who this academy suits
The Linha's inland door: Gracie Barra's Beloura school at Rua Sesmarias 7 in Quinta da Beloura gives Sintra-side beginners the same free first class as the Cascais mother door — «Agende uma aula grátis», with Beloura selectable right in the booking form — and posts its own 2026 schedule graphic. For someone living around Sintra or Beloura who doesn't want the drive to the coast, this is the network's near door. Times live in the posted graphic and prices aren't printed — ask when booking
Why we say it: The Beloura address block, the shared free-class CTA, the form's school selector and the HORARIO-BELOURA-2026 graphic are all on the club's own published site, fetched 2026-08-25

I'm a complete beginner. Can I just show up?
It differs by academy. Entries show where a fundamentals program and first-visit process are verified. For the rest, check with the academy before visiting. For what a first class actually feels like, see the beginner posts on our blog.
