Learning jiu-jitsu in Quito

Quito is the guide's sixth Spanish-language city and the last stop of the run — and it starts with an honest fact: Ecuador's capital of jiu-jitsu is Guayaquil (seventeen rooms on the accreditation roll sit there). This page covers Quito as it is — six rooms on the roll. One of them opens all the way, and for a whole week: Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Quito on Av. Veracruz N37-61, by the La Carolina park belt — a Certified Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Training Center by its own footer, where head instructor and owner Angel Paúl Aragundi tells his own story on the site, and the door opens with «Disfruta de una semana sin costo y experimenta nuestras clases» — a free week. Beside it, the roll's records: Fight Sports Legacy on Av. 10 de Agosto (25 members), Gracie Barra Ecuador (city-only seat, whose roll phone is byte-identical to GB Colombia's in Medellín — a cross-border link the registry itself draws), HULKSPORTS by El Inca, Marquiño on Maquiavelo, Black House in El Labrador. Their channels are walled, so the printed record is the door. For someone just starting, the real question is not "which academy is best" but "which one fits me."

Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Quito

Who this academy suits

The one door in this fence that opens all the way — and it opens for a whole week: Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Quito, on Av. Veracruz N37-61 by the La Carolina park belt, is a Certified Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Training Center (its own footer's words) running the Gracie University programs — Combatives for adult beginners, Bullyproof for kids, Master Cycle beyond — under head instructor and owner Angel Paúl Aragundi, who tells his own story on the site, purple belt from Rener Gracie included. The register is printed in server text: «Disfruta de una semana sin costo y experimenta nuestras clases» — a free week, booked class by class on the Reservas page. Prices live behind the contact line — write to the printed email or call when you book

Why we say it: graciequito.com home + /horarios + /reservas, read 2026-08-27 — the footer's certification line, the instructor's own story, the seat, contact, programs and the free-week byte are the club's own published content, quoted verbatim; the AJP roll (club/16571) cross-confirms the street seat

I'm a complete beginner. Can I just show up?

It differs by academy. Entries show where a fundamentals program and first-visit process are verified. For the rest, check with the academy before visiting. For what a first class actually feels like, see the beginner posts on our blog.
