Learning jiu-jitsu in the Porto belt

This guide covers the Porto belt — Gaia across the river, Matosinhos, Maia and Ermesinde, out to Vila do Conde and Santa Maria da Feira. Fifteen recorded rooms, every one carrying the federation's own print: professor with belt rank, street, and hours per club page. Gaia holds five (GB Valadares, Integração, Phalanx and VS Team in Mafamude, ArtSuave in Canidelo and Santo Ovídio's old factory), Matosinhos three — among them Kleber Repolho in Custóias, the roll's highest-ranked professor at «Faixa Preta 6º Grau» — Maia carries the GFTeam Portugal matriz (its own site live), and the Gracie Barra locator seats Maia, Rio Tinto and Devesas beside them. For someone just starting, the real question is not "which academy is best" but "which one fits me."

It differs by academy. Where we could verify the booking method, it is listed under "Your first visit" in that academy's entry; otherwise, asking through the academy's official channel is the most reliable route.

I'm a complete beginner. Can I just show up?
