Learning jiu-jitsu in Moscow
Moscow publishes its jiu-jitsu in Russian, and no city in this corpus prices its front door in more different ways: five distinct trial shapes live here at once, and in every one of them the deciding fact is the figure beside the word, never the word itself. One room's trial is flatly free — “Пробное занятие бесплатно”. One sells it at 1000₽ and credits the fee toward a membership if you stay — “При покупке абонемента стоимость засчитывается” — beside a seven-day “Тест Драйв” week with a kimono thrown in. One prices it plainly at “1500 РУБ” with a standing half-off promo. One uses the trial word and publishes no figure at all — “Оплатить в клубе”, pay at the desk. And one splits it by age — “для детей бесплатно, взрослые — со скидкой 50%” — over a base price the site never prints. This guide covers eleven records across six areas: six rooms passed the own-channel test and carry full entries — among them a six-door house with named coaches on every timetable slot, the city's one confirmed BJJ-only room, the Gracie Barra network's official Moscow school and a 20-club network in the JJIF tradition — and five records are registry addresses published plainly, with their dead or false-hit domains stated as the reason nothing more is claimed. Two of the six areas hold only such records, and their pages say so. Everything here is training fact from an operator's own surface — verified per room, no rankings, and the evidence behind every claim. Where a page looks small, that is a statement about what this research can read, never about Moscow.
What a first visit costs in Moscow
Of the 6 academies this guide covers, 1 print a free first class with no condition, 1 a free one with a condition, 2 print a price for it, 2 say to book and find out, 0 publish enrolment or enquiry details without a trial offer, and 0 have no readable first-visit terms.
The printed first-visit prices run from 1,000 ₽ (≈ $11.5) to 1,500 ₽ (≈ $17.3), for example:
- 187 BJJ: 1,000 ₽ (≈ $11.5) (PAID and CREDITED, in the operator's own words: the 1000₽ trial session counts toward a membership if you buy one. Beside it, a product this corpus had never seen: «Тест Драйв» — a 4900₽ seven-day test-drive with a kimono for the duration. Novices get kimono rental free)
- Gracie Barra Moscow: 1,500 ₽ (≈ $17.3) (PAID with a published figure — the fourth trial shape in this city's file: the grid's single-session tier reads trial session 1500₽. Beside it a standing promo offers 50% off the first session through the site's request form. Both bytes carried; the guide computes nothing)
Fewer than 5 academies have a published monthly rate included in the study, so this hub does not show a median.
Conditions the pages state
- Sibirsky Bars: The fifth trial shape in this city's file, split by age in the operator's own words: free for children, half price for adults — while the figure the discount applies to is not published; ask the call centre for the trial price. Also published as a condition of training: a current medical certificate is mandatory
Ask before you go
- Is the first class free for a visitor, or only for someone who intends to join?
- Is a gi lent for the first class, and what does one cost to buy?
- What does a month cost without a contract, and is there a joining fee?

A summary records what the page printed on the day it was read. Whether a class is women-only or mixed, and who may join, is in the summary where the academy publishes it; visitor and price facts are on the academy's card; where something is not published, ask the academy.
