London is the largest jiu-jitsu scene we have mapped in Europe — 161 candidate rooms at discovery, nearly double Paris — and it is an independents' city: 72% of the rooms recorded publish their own website, so the facts here come from the academies' own pages, not federation paperwork. The city prices its visitors in four tiers: the visitor pass (Roger Gracie Academy HQ sells a day at £35, a week at £99, a month at £299 — the first month-long visitor pass in this corpus), the day pass (£20–£39), the open-mat fee (£10–£20), and pay-as-you-go from £15. The one fence recorded so far is residency: at Carlson Gracie London the free trial is for London residents, and visitors pay £20. The city is far too big for one guide, so we cover it area by area — and release it the same way: West came first, Central/North, East and South-East joined, and now South-West completes the map — every area of the city is covered.
