Learning jiu-jitsu in Las Vegas

Las Vegas is the guide's third US-depth city and its first with four areas, because the valley trains where it lives: west of the Strip along the Rainbow corridor, in the southwest suburbs, across North Las Vegas and Centennial Hills, and in Henderson. No roll prints addresses beyond a directory, so the doors print their own facts. Zenith, Robert Drysdale's room, prints «Get 2 FREE BJJ Classes!» beside its hour blocks; Cobrinha's rooms print a free trial class and «$145/mo»; CJJF Vegas prints «10-DAY FREE TRIAL» and «$155 /mo»; Odin's Halls prints «7 days of classes - FOR FREE» with classes at 5am, 11am and noon seven days a week; AE UNLTD in Henderson prints «General Unlimited $149/mo» and «Single class drop-in $25»; Carlson Gracie Green Valley prints a «FREE week»; and Syndicate MMA runs the paid register, «$30 3-Day Full-Access Trial» with «We don't offer free classes.» in its own words. The recorded rows come from Jiu Jitsu Authority's Nevada pages, fifty street addresses. 10th Planet's three rooms are recorded only: their robots file names this research and closes the door. For someone starting out, the real question is not «which gym is the best» but «which one fits me»; this guide exists to answer that.

What a first visit costs in Las Vegas

Of the 15 academies this guide covers, 11 print a free first class with no condition, 1 a free one with a condition, 1 print a price for it, 0 say to book and find out, 0 publish enrolment or enquiry details without a trial offer, and 2 have no readable first-visit terms.

The printed first-visit prices run from $30 to $30, for example:

  • Syndicate MMA: $30 (A paid register: «$30 3‑Day Full‑Access Trial» — «We don't offer free classes.» Three days across every program; join within 7 days and the $30 counts toward the first month; loaner gis and gloves for trial members)

5 academies print a standard adult monthly rate: the median is $149, the lowest $145, the highest $194.

Conditions the pages state

  • AE UNLTD Jiu Jitsu: A free multi-day trial in the site's own words, «available Monday through Thursday» — Fridays and Saturdays are not trial days; visitors «Single class drop-in $25»

Ask before you go

  • Is the first class free for a visitor, or only for someone who intends to join?
  • Is a gi lent for the first class, and what does one cost to buy?
  • What does a month cost without a contract, and is there a joining fee?
