Learning jiu-jitsu in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf

This guide covers the City West around the Kurfürstendamm — 8 rooms recorded, 5 of them with full entries — and this is the district where Berlin sells its single visit in English. Choke Athletics prints, in an `EXTRAS` block on its price page, `Day pass 30€ — Valid for one day — Full gym access — All disciplines — Open mats included`, beside a `10-class pass 250€ — No expiration date`. The same room says of itself on its own homepage: `Choke is a members-first MMA club — capped on purpose. Limited spots` — a cap advertised as a virtue, which is not the same thing as a room closed to new members. Its memberships run `UNLIMITED` at 169–209 € a month and a twice-weekly `FUNDAMENTALS` at 149–189 €. On the Kaiserdamm, Corpus Dicio makes Brazilian jiu-jitsu the headline rather than a line on a list — `Fokus auf Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) für Erwachsene und Kinder` — and opens with a free `Probetraining`, at 109 € a month for adults and 89–99 € for students and apprentices. Xuan's Gong Fu Academy carries BJJ as one of six styles a student picks from, and prices a resident day at `30 € / Per day`, with memberships at 70, 80, 90 and 120 € a month. UFC GYM Berlin, at Kurfürstendamm 38, publishes jiu-jitsu classes and, in the same breath, `UFC GYM ist kein Kampfsportstudio` — it is not a martial-arts studio. Both halves are its own words and both belong here; its `14 TAGE TESTEN`, `6 Wochen ab nur 29€` and `Online-Bonus: 0€ Startgebühr statt 100€` are chain-level terms that the pages read do not tie to this address. Sambo Combat Gryphon is a three-hall association whose primary art is Sambo and whose own competition report names `unserer BJJ-Abteilung`, its own BJJ department. Read one line before travelling to its Spandau hall: `Zurzeit kein Training in Spandau.` is printed directly above that hall's full timetable, so this guide ships the timetable and the notice together. For someone just starting, the real question is not "which academy is best" but "which one fits me."

Choke Athletics — its own site's title reads `Choke Athletics | MMA Fight Club Berlin`

Who this academy suits

A room that states its terms before you walk in, and charges for them. Choke Athletics is an MMA club a minute from Kurfürstendamm whose homepage says `Not for everyone` and `Choke is a members-first MMA club — capped on purpose. Limited spots` — a cap advertised as a virtue rather than an apology for demand, and worth reading exactly that way. Brazilian jiu-jitsu is a named discipline with a paragraph of its own, beside wrestling, taekwondo and striking, and every tier includes `Open mats included` and `All disciplines`. For a visitor the useful line is `EXTRAS`: `Day pass 30€`, valid for one day, full access — one of very few paid single visits published anywhere in this city, sold in English inside a German room. Monthly membership is the most expensive in the Berlin roster (`Monthly 209 €/Month`, down to `169 €/Month` on a 24-month term), so choose it deliberately. Two coaches publish BJJ belts, a black and a brown, and neither names a grantor, so those stand as the club's account of its own staff. Class times were not reachable on the pages read; ask before travelling for a specific session

Why we say it: Every byte is the operator's own chokeathletics.com, four pages read 2026-08-17 under robots `User-agent: * / Allow: /` with no crawl-delay (berlin-d2-ledger-w3.md §W3.3, row 71). The capacity line is quoted verbatim from the homepage with its read date under §18.3, using the `by-design` polarity §19.4 created for exactly this shape — the only capacity byte in that worker's twenty-nine rows, against §18.3's model of a Verein's `Aufnahmestopp`, the opposite polarity. Prices, the `Day pass 30€` and the coach bios are verbatim from `/prices` and `/team`. Both BJJ belts ship without lineage under §10.10 because no grantor is published. The aggregators carrying this room were deliberately not fetched (shared hosts, §W3.7), and under §19.5 a platform widget is not the operator's own channel — so no schedule is claimed and the gap is named as ours

The published single-visit product is a paid day rate — the price page's `EXTRAS` block reads `Day pass 30€ — Valid for one day — Full gym access — All disciplines — Open mats included`, beside `10-class pass 250€ — Access for 10 classes — No expiration date`. ⚠ An earlier record carried `Das erste Training ist kostenlos` (`the first session is free`); that line was not re-read this pass, so ask before assuming it

The most expensive monthly room in the Berlin roster. ⚠ The German and English blocks name the same products differently (`FUNDAMENTALS`/`FLEX`, `FUTURE FIGHTERS`/`KIDS`)

Who this academy suits

One of the few Berlin rooms where Brazilian jiu-jitsu is the headline rather than an item on a list. The homepage says it plainly — `Unsere Kampfsportschule bietet dir ein einzigartiges Trainingserlebnis mit Fokus auf Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) für Erwachsene und Kinder` — and the strapline puts BJJ ahead of kids' training, women's self-defence, functional training and Muay Thai. It sits on the Kaiserdamm in Charlottenburg, prices are published in full and are mid-market for the city (`Erwachsene: 109 € / Monat`, down to `69 € / Monat` for kids), and the door is a stated free one: `Melde dich jetzt für ein kostenloses Probetraining an`. Two things to know first. The timetable is a picture — `/stundenplan/` serves a single image with no alt text and a 2025 file name — so no class time is readable to us and the week has to be asked for. And, more consequential for a BJJ-lead house, no coach is named and no belt is published on the pages read: ask who teaches and what they hold before signing a contract

Why we say it: Every quoted byte is the operator's own corpus-dicio.com, three pages read 2026-08-17 under WordPress-default robots with no crawl-delay (berlin-d2-ledger-w3.md §W3.3, row 68). The address ships as the homepage's `Kaiserdamm 109`; the Impressum's one-`m` variant and the OSM node's `Wilmersdorfer Straße 46` are carried as conflicts, and the map string becomes no pin because a node geocoded from its own string is never corroboration. Prices are byte-identical to the D1 read; the `12-Monatsverträge` surcharge condition was on the D1 page and not on this one, so it rides as a D1 observation. The schedule is withheld because `/stundenplan/` is a single image with an empty `alt` — a wall that formed between the two reads, and ours. The absent coach and belt are stated as the state of what is published under §11.6, never as a judgement

The mat, from the room's own homepage: `Corpus Dicio Gym, Kaiserdamm 109, 14057 Berlin`. ⚠ Three strings exist: the same site's Impressum prints `Kaiserdam 109` (sic, one `m`), and an OpenStreetMap node carries `Wilmersdorfer Straße 46`, which appears nowhere on the operator's channel. The operator's own string is the one published

Sambo Combat Gryphon e. V. — a registered association whose masthead reads `KRAV MAGA, BRASILIANISCHES JIU-JITSU, GRAPPLING` and whose primary art is Sambo. Its own dated competition report names its BJJ department: `dieses Turnier zeigt eindrucksvoll, was in unserer BJJ-Abteilung steckt` (`this tournament showed what our BJJ department is made of`), from a Gi and No-Gi event in Gryfice, Poland on 30 May 2026

Who this academy suits

A three-venue Berlin association whose jiu-jitsu is proved not by a nav label but by a result: on 30 May 2026 the club reported sending seven athletes to the VI. Puchar Wybrzeża in Gryfice, Poland — a Gi and No-Gi BJJ tournament — and wrote of `unserer BJJ-Abteilung`, its own BJJ department. The main art is Sambo, the masthead reads `KRAV MAGA, BRASILIANISCHES JIU-JITSU, GRAPPLING`, and it publishes in German, Ukrainian and Russian. Three mats: Charlottenburg (`Bleibtreustrasse. 43 / Knesebeckstr 28`), Spandau (`Bruno-Gehrke-Halle Neuendorferstr.67`) and Marzahn-Hellersdorf (`Max Hermann str`). Timetables are published for all three, with two cautions: the Spandau block is headed `Zurzeit kein Training in Spandau.` while its timetable is still printed underneath, and a banner elsewhere still reads `Sommerferien bis 08.09.2025` — so ring first. The sessions are graded by group and level rather than by art, so ask which slot is the jiu-jitsu. The club's answer on a first visit is simple and unpriced: `Ein Probetraining ist jederzeit möglich.`

Why we say it: Every byte is the club's own www.sambo-combat-gryphon.com, three pages read 2026-08-17 under WordPress-default robots with no crawl-delay (berlin-d2-ledger-w3.md §W3.3, row 23). The discipline rests on the club's own dated competition report naming its BJJ department, not on the Land registry's `306` filing, because a filing is never a discipline test (§17.4). Three venues publish as three pins under §13.7, byte-faithful including the Cyrillic `Е` and the missing house number; the registry's `Reichweindamm14, 13627` is on no page read and is not pinned. The Spandau pause is quoted with its read date as a third state beside `closed` and `by-design`, and the stale `Sommerferien bis 08.09.2025` banner is why it is carried as a thing to confirm. That no slot is labelled by art is stated as a limit of the timetable, never as a claim about the club

UFC GYM Berlin — the German arm of the UFC GYM franchise, own channel ufcgym.de. ⚠ The operator disclaims being a martial-arts school in its own words, and that ships with the programme or neither does: `UFC GYM ist kein Kampfsportstudio – sondern Dein Premium-Fitnessclub, inspiriert vom Trainingsansatz des MMA.` (`UFC GYM is not a martial-arts studio but your premium fitness club, inspired by the MMA training approach`) and `UFC GYM ist allerdings keine Kampfsportbude oder Ausbildungsstätte für Fighter.` It nonetheless publishes three named Brazilian-jiu-jitsu course formats

Who this academy suits

A large commercial fitness club on the Kurfürstendamm that publishes jiu-jitsu classes and, in the same breath, says it is not a martial-arts school. Both halves are its own words: `UFC GYM ist kein Kampfsportstudio – sondern Dein Premium-Fitnessclub, inspiriert vom Trainingsansatz des MMA` and `keine Kampfsportbude oder Ausbildungsstätte für Fighter` sit beside three named formats — `BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU (BJJ) Gi`, `BJJ NoGi (GRAPPLING)` and `BJJ OPEN MAT` — each with a description and, for the Gi class, a kit list (`Gi, Rashguard, Badelatschen, Handtuch`). That is a real answer for a beginner who wants gym facilities and a jiu-jitsu class on one membership rather than a dedicated academy. Two limits: the chain adds `Das Kursangebot kann je nach Standort variieren` to its own course page and the per-location timetables were not readable to us, so it is not established here that any of the three runs at Kurfürstendamm 38 — worth a phone call. And no coach at this address publishes a jiu-jitsu belt; staff are listed by name and role only, so ask who teaches. The published way in is `14 TAGE TESTEN`, with a `100€` `Startgebühr` waived on online sign-up

Why we say it: Course descriptions, disclaimers, venues and offers are the chain's own ufcgym.de, read 2026-08-17 with robots.txt served as HTTP 200 and zero bytes, i.e. open (berlin-d2-ledger-w2.md §C, row 22). The inclusion audit passes at chain level on three read course descriptions — a term match would never have been enough — and the same ledger names the unreached slice: the per-location plans did not surface as HTML paths, so no class time is claimed for this address and the gap is stated as ours. The two disclaimer sentences ride with the programme because they are the operator's own account of what the club is. The absent belt is recorded under §11.6 as programme-level evidence, never as a judgement. Teltow is named, not pinned, being outside the Berlin fence

Who this academy suits

A Chinese internal-arts academy in Wilmersdorf that carries Brazilian jiu-jitsu as one of six styles a student picks from — `Qi Gong · Tai Ji · Ba Gua · Xing Yi · Wudang Sword · BJJ: Brazilian Jiu Jitsu` — and which says on its own price page `We want to encourage you to train as much as possible, because Kung Fu is our only priority.` Read those two together; the second tells you what kind of room this is. What makes it genuinely useful is the money. Membership is priced by notice period rather than contract length — `six month' notice period / 70 € Monthly` up to `without notice period / 90 € Monthly` — the opposite of the usual arrangement, and the cheapest adult rate in the district. And it publishes what almost no Berlin room does: a full-time visitor tariff at `30 € / Per day` for stays of sixteen days or less, `500 € / Per month` beyond, framed as `Live in the academy and practice all-day everyday`. For a few weeks of training in Berlin that is a rare published answer. Two limits: the timetable sits behind a style chooser and the calendar paths are closed to us, so ask for the week's BJJ times; and no jiu-jitsu instructor or belt is published, so ask who teaches

Why we say it: Style list, priority sentence, prices, day rate and the three address spellings are all the school's own xuan-gongfu.de, read 2026-08-17 with robots open for content and the disallowed calendar-exporter paths honoured, unrequested (berlin-d2-ledger-w2.md §C, row 73). The D2 read supersedes the earlier placement of BJJ inside a `Combat` programme: it is a named style on the school's own chooser. The `Kung Fu is our only priority` sentence ships beside it under §18.2, which exists so a channel's own qualifying sentence is not dropped in favour of the one that scores. No schedule and no instructor is claimed, because the times sit behind the chooser with the calendar paths robots-disallowed and no belt is published — both stated as limits of this reading

That is a day rate sold to people who come to Berlin to train, and it is the published door for a visitor. Whether a single class can be bought outside it is a question for the school
