Learning jiu-jitsu in Deira & east Dubai
This guide covers Dubai's east — the old city and the belt behind it: the creek band from Umm Hurair and Oud Metha through Garhoud, then Ras Al Khor and Nadd Al Hamar, Khawaneej at the eastern edge and Silicon Oasis in the south — 18 rooms recorded, 7 of them with full entries. This is the belt where Dubai starts to look like its capital: beside the storefront gyms sit three government sports clubs — Shabab Al Ahli at its Deira stadium, Al Wasl on the Jadaf side, and Al Nasr, the only one of the three that publishes a jiu-jitsu section on the web, naming Rashid bin Hamdan Hall as its competition venue. Between them the three clubs hold over a thousand registered competitors and publish no civilian enrollment path in any language — they are competition institutions, not walk-in doors, and we list them as what they are. The civilian belt speaks plainly. Gracie Barra keeps three rooms here — Silicon Oasis, Nadd Al Hamar, and Khawaneej, whose own site posts a full weekly schedule, gives the first class free, and runs a complete Arabic edition beside the English one — «حصتك الأولى مجانية», "your first class is on us" — the first full operator-side Arabic channel this research has recorded in Dubai. Atrixion Combat Sports, in the Le Méridien hotel gym on Garhoud's Airport Road (with a satellite inside a JVC fitness club), is the belt's price anchor and its only published membership grid: a sheet rendered entirely in Arabic-script dirhams — the first in this research's records — from د.إ.849.95 a month, with a named 1 Day Pass at د.إ.169; the schedule, though, is by text or phone. Alpha Academy DXB, Ras Al Khor's first verified door, opens with a free class and posts its week server-side; Combat UAE trains in the same Al Ttay warehouse compound as Gracie Barra's Khawaneej room — one compound, two operations — and MMA Live keeps a creek-side room at Al Boom Tourist Village. Worth knowing: Nadd Al Hamar is a two-mat pocket — Matador Jiujitsu, a civilian room under an Emirati operator, is its second — and the belt's booking rail is WhatsApp, not booking software. Two honest notes: Checkmat's Dubai presence is registration paperwork seated at a Meydan chain gym — the network has never opened a door of its own in Dubai, and its one verified UAE mat is Oasis BJJ Club in Al Ain. And Deira-proper, the historic north bank, holds no verified civilian academy after a full drain of the registries, the directory layer and the press: old Deira watches jiu-jitsu at the stadium; it does not yet train it in a storefront. That is a statement about published doors, not about jiu-jitsu. For someone just starting, the real question is not "which academy is best" but "which one fits me."

Alpha Academy DXB
Who this academy suits
Ras Al Khor's first published door — and it hands a visitor almost everything: a shop-unit address in the Wasl Green Park development (R1081-F1 Building, Shop No. 05), a full weekly timetable with morning and evening jiu-jitsu — 10:00 AM gi on Mon/Wed/Fri and no-gi on Tue/Thu, evenings at 7:30 and 8:30, a Saturday open mat — published hours six days a week, and a free first class ('START YOUR FREE CLASS'). Two fences travel with it: no coach is named anywhere on the site ('11+ Expert Instructors' stays a number), and no prices publish — ask both when you book. One caution from our research: don't confuse it with The Alpha Club in Al Quoz, a different operation entirely. A fit for Ras Al Khor and Nad Al Sheba commuters who want a schedule they can actually read before showing up — including a genuine daytime option
Why we say it: The address, phone, email, hours, weekly grid, free-class CTAs and stats copy are the academy's own site verbatim (alphaacademydxb.com, fetched 2026-08-15); the registry corroboration is AJP 14733 (crawl-delay honored, same day; bare district byte enriched by the own channel — the D2 promotion §14 ratified). The 'first published door' framing is the D2 district finding. The no-coach and no-price fences are authored as absences, and the Alpha Club caution is the standing W5 name-collision guard. No claim is made beyond the published surface

Atrixion Combat Sports
Who this academy suits
The east belt's price anchor — and the only room east that publishes a price for exactly one day: Atrixion Combat Sports publishes a complete rate card, rare anywhere in this Dubai research — monthly د.إ.849.95, three months د.إ.2,499, up to a year at د.إ.7,999, privates at د.إ.400 — and a 1 Day Pass at د.إ.169 covering one combat sport plus gym, sauna and pool, with a free trial published beside it. The room is a hotel gym: the second floor of the Le Méridien by the airport in Garhoud ('SINCE 2009' by its own footer), plus a satellite program inside Helios Fitness Club in JVC on afternoons. BJJ has a genuinely named staff — Ivan Neto and Adrian Munoz on adults and kids, Mira Balboa (a three-time Grand Slam champion) leading kids. Two fences: there is no class timetable — 'Our schedule is highly flexible… please text or call us' — so the published hours are your frame and the phone is your schedule; and the rate card's own caveat says partner-location rates may vary, so ask before assuming the JVC satellite matches. For Garhoud commuters, airport-hotel guests with an evening free, and anyone east who wants to pay for exactly one day before committing
Why we say it: Every price is the academy's own /pricing-plans page verbatim and byte-exact in its Arabic-script dirham form (atrixiondubai.com, fetched 2026-08-15), including the partner-location caveat; the two venues and per-venue hours are its own /locations verbatim; the coach roster and athlete records are its own /team; the schedule-by-phone line is its own /schedule. The 'only published day pass east' scoping is the D2 market finding (§MARKET ①), scoped to what publishes. Registry corroboration: IBJJF 10001 venue byte-family; the U truncation and AJP typo are filed as conflicts and cited from the own site instead

Combat UAE (Combat Martial Arts and Fitness Club)
Who this academy suits
Khawaneej's own multi-art warehouse club — real, long-running, and address-shy: Combat UAE lists Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu on its training menu beside Muay Thai, boxing, kickboxing and MMA, answers on two published lines — (04) 546 6955 and WhatsApp +971 50 276 5701 — and its own footer runs '© 2004-2025'. The honest notes travel with it: the club's own site publishes no street (the federation registries supply it — Warehouse #2, Al Ttay, Khawaneej 2, the same warehouse compound as the district's Gracie Barra), membership is 'fully customizable' with no prices anywhere, there is no readable timetable, and some of the site's subpages are simply unfinished — so treat the homepage as the site and the WhatsApp line as the door. Message before you drive out, and ask three things: the jiu-jitsu class times, the price, and the exact warehouse. For east-side residents who want a neighborhood club where jiu-jitsu is one art among several — not a single-discipline academy
Why we say it: The training list, register copy, membership wording, footer and both phone numbers are the club's own site verbatim (combatuae.com, fetched 2026-08-15; the /contact template stub and 404ing Membership item filed as conflicts, cited from neither). The warehouse address is AJP 11441 verbatim with U5786 and IBJJF 14503 in the same byte-family (crawl-delay honored, same day) — provenance stated in the display. The merged identity is the §14-ratified 63→83 merge (og display name + registry Website field). No price, schedule, or coach claim is made — none is published

Gracie Barra Al Khawaneej
Who this academy suits
The east belt's fullest published door — in two languages: Gracie Barra Al Khawaneej runs its own site in English and a complete Arabic edition (the only academy publishing one in this Dubai research), with a real weekly timetable — women's and kids' classes at 4:30, adults' beginner at 6:30, advanced at 7:30 with half an hour of sparring, Monday to Friday plus Sunday — and the belt's warmest first-visit line: 'Your first class is on us.' Booking and membership both run over WhatsApp (+971 54 162 0054), and no prices are published — ask when the team walks you through the options. One practical note our research carries: the academy's own site gives only a plus-code, while the federation registries carry the physical street — Al Ttay Warehouse 9, Khawaneej 2 — so get directions over WhatsApp before your first drive out. A fit for east-Dubai families, beginners who want a readable schedule with a genuine beginner slot, and Arabic-first readers — the rare academy that publishes to them directly
Why we say it: The timetable slots, first-class-free line (en + ar), WhatsApp flow, phone, email and '250+ Local members' are the academy's own subdomain verbatim (alkhawaneej.graciebarra.ae + /ar-AE, fetched 2026-08-15); the estate presence is graciebarrauae.com's Dubai grid, same day; the warehouse street is both registry mirrors (U6441 + AJP 17166, crawl-delay honored) per the D2 conflict ruling — warehouse publishes, both layers cited, plus-code never pinned. The 'only Arabic edition' claim is scoped to this research's Dubai corpus (§AR). No price claim is made — none is published

Gracie Barra Nadd Al Hamar
Who this academy suits
The neighborhood Gracie Barra of a quiet two-mat district: this room at 9 26A Street is the first time Nadd Al Hamar's GB has published a street at all — its earlier records carried no usable address, and now the brand's own UAE estate and the federation registry agree on both the street and the phone. The room now publishes its own site too — programs for adults and kids and a timetable posted as a graphic — alongside the estate's 'BOOK FREE TRIAL' funnel; what is still unpublished: prices and a named coach — ask when you book. Worth knowing: Nadd Al Hamar holds two mats (Matador Jiujitsu Academy is registered in the same district, per both federation registries), so the district's residents genuinely get a choice. A fit for east-side families and beginners who want GB curriculum without crossing the city — and who are fine starting from a booking form
Why we say it: The street, phone and 'BOOK FREE TRIAL' card are the Gracie Barra UAE estate's own locations grid verbatim (graciebarrauae.com, fetched 2026-08-15); the registry joins are AJP 14122 (byte-identical phone, Website field naming the estate) and UAEJJF 6372 (same PIC, district byte), crawl-delay honored, same day. The 'first street byte' framing is the D2 record: earlier layers carried no street (§5.5 rot, bypassed). The two-mat note is both mirrors' Matador address (row 71). The own-site layer (programs, /schedule timetable graphic, phone +971 58 579 9140, district-only address) is graciebarra-dubai.com, fetched 2026-08-15 at D8 re-verify; its phone differs from the estate/AJP byte — both stand, recorded as layers. No price or instructor claim is made — neither is published

Gracie Barra Silicon Oasis
Who this academy suits
The technology district's Gracie Barra: a room in Sit Tower (308 Silicon Oasis) whose address and phone agree byte-for-byte between the brand's own UAE estate and the government registry — with the registry's website field pointing back at that same estate, as clean a two-directional confirmation as this research finds in Dubai. The published door is the estate's 'BOOK FREE TRIAL' funnel, and that funnel is the entire published surface: no prices, no timetable, no named coach — ask for all three when the academy answers. A fit for Silicon Oasis residents and tech-park commuters who want GB curriculum near the office and don't mind a funnel-first first contact
Why we say it: The venue, phone and 'BOOK FREE TRIAL' card are the Gracie Barra UAE estate's own locations grid verbatim (graciebarrauae.com, fetched 2026-08-15; Dubai tab resolved from the served DOM without JS); the registry join is UAEJJF 5123 — name, byte-identical phone, and a Website field naming the estate (crawl-delay honored, same day). No price, timetable, or instructor claim is made — none is published

MMA Live Gym Dubai
Who this academy suits
The creek's luxury-register door: MMA Live Gym sits in Al Boom Tourist Village by Garhoud Bridge — a rare civilian mat on the old city's edge — and publishes a real address and two contacts, which on this belt already puts it ahead of most. What it doesn't publish is everything else: membership is 'Unlimited Training Sessions, Personalized Coaching' with no prices, there is no readable timetable, and nothing is promised free — the site's register is 'the intersection of Luxury and physical Well-being', and the terms live behind a call. One thing the research can now confirm: the gym's own classes page lists 'BJJ Gi/No Gi' and names a BJJ black belt on staff — Anderson 'Fala Mansa' de Queiroz Diniz, an MMA veteran of over 30 professional fights — so the jiu-jitsu program is published, and both federation registrations corroborate it. For creek-side and Oud Metha residents who want a premium multi-art gym near the old city and are comfortable getting the numbers by phone
Why we say it: The address, phone, email, register copy and membership wording are the gym's own site verbatim (mmalive.com /contact, fetched 2026-08-15); the registry corroboration is UAEJJF 6040's matching venue byte + AJP 14706 (crawl-delay honored, same day; phone variant filed as a conflict, own-site byte published). The BJJ-program line is the own /classes page, fetched 2026-08-15 at D8 re-verify: 'BJJ Gi/No Gi' listed among the classes and coach Anderson ”Fala Mansa” de Queiroz Diniz named 'Coach MMA & BRAZilian jiu jitsu — BJJ black belt'; both federation registrations corroborate. No price, schedule, or free-trial claim is made — none is published
