Learning jiu-jitsu in the city of Buenos Aires (CABA)

One door in the capital's fence opens all the way: Positive Jiu Jitsu at Doblas 1356, Parque Chacabuco, prints both sedes' weeks as text — Gi Monday·Wednesday·Friday and No-Gi Tuesday·Thursday at the sede central, beginner and kids blocks at its Almagro sede — names its head coach, Walter Alamo (2025 ADCC South American pro champion), and opens with a free first class: «Tu primera clase es gratuita.» Beside it, the roll's records: Lotus Club at Venezuela 1332 (391 members, the country's biggest room on the roll), Nexo on Av. Córdoba 4156 in Palermo, De La Riva at Riobamba 46 by Congreso, Boidae in San Telmo (an official Positive filial by Positive's own list), Castaño, Jaba, and Academia Mario Sukata, whose printed seat needs care. Their channels sit behind Instagram walls, so the printed seats and phones are the doors. For someone just starting, the real question is not "which academy is best" but "which one fits me."

Positive Jiu Jitsu

Who this academy suits

The one door in this fence that opens all the way — and a strong first door by design: Positive Jiu Jitsu prints both sedes' weeks as text (Gi and No-Gi across the same week at the sede central in Parque Chacabuco; dedicated beginner and kids blocks at the Almagro sede), names its head coach — Walter Alamo, 2025 ADCC South American pro champion, who teaches every sede-central class — and opens with the city's own register: «Tu primera clase es gratuita.» No gi, no experience needed; book the free class by WhatsApp. Three subway blocks from Boedo on the E line. Prices live behind the WhatsApp line — the FAQ names flexible plans (two classes a week or unlimited) without figures, so ask when you book

Why we say it: positivejiujitsu.com home + /sedes.html + /faq.html + /profesores.html, read 2026-08-27 — the schedule, trial, coach, transit and plan-register bytes are the club's own published content, quoted verbatim; the AJP roll (club/5429) cross-confirms seat and phone

I'm a complete beginner. Can I just show up?

It differs by academy. Entries show where a fundamentals program and first-visit process are verified. For the rest, check with the academy before visiting. For what a first class actually feels like, see the beginner posts on our blog.
